If a float drain leaks, costly compressed air losses occur. Time-controlled solenoid valves also release compressed air during opening. The BEKOMAT® 16 CO uses electronic level control (capacitive sensor and microcontroller) to trigger drainage only when the housing is filled, ensuring condensate removal without compressed air loss, reducing energy use, costs and CO2 emissions.

Function of BEKOMAT® 16 CO
Condensate flows into the unit via the inlet line and collects in the housing. A capacitive sensor continuously monitors the liquid level and signals the electronic control when the preset level is reached. The pilot valve is actuated, the diaphragm opens the outlet and the condensate is discharged. Once emptied, the outlet is closed tightly and quickly to prevent compressed air loss.

• 1 - Ready for operation: voltage applied.
• 2 - Discharge procedure: outlet line open.
• 3 - Malfunction: alarm mode activated (red LED flashes).
• 4 - Test: manual drainage / alarm function.

Alarm mode and possible causes of malfunction
If the microcontroller detects a fault, the device switches to alarm mode and the valve switching sequence continues until the fault is cleared automatically or via maintenance. Possible causes: installation errors; pressure below the required minimum; excessive condensate (overload); blocked or closed outlet line; extreme dirt particles; frozen piping. If the fault persists longer than one minute, a fault message can be issued via the potential-free alarm relay.
