Description
The SG-3 gantry 3-axis CNC milling machine from BERMAQ® is designed for machining medium-size parts in polystyrene, plastics, resins, foams, aluminium, stainless steel and composites. Its modular gantry architecture allows multiple configurations and options to fit production or prototyping requirements.

Key features and functional description
The SG-3 pairs a rigid gantry structure with precision CNC control and a high-performance spindle. The open design eases loading; a full enclosure with front doors is available as an option. Modular design permits integration of different milling heads and production accessories to suit jobs from prototyping to small-series production.

Transmission and motion system
Standard transmission uses rack-and-pinion on X and Y axes and a preloaded ball screw on Z for accuracy. An optional dual servomotor in master-slave configuration can be fitted to enhance dynamic performance and positioning control.

Tooling and automation
The machine supports a linear tool changer under the gantry and automatic tool changer options of 10, 12, 30 or up to 40 positions. Multiple milling heads and automated sequences can be configured to reduce cycle times.

Control and accessories
Compatible with Heidenhain iT NC640 or SIEMENS 840D SL CNC controls. Available accessories include an electronic handwheel and a climate-controlled electrical cabinet for reliable operation in industrial environments.
