Description

Key features
  • Measures and displays I‑V and P‑V curves up to 1500 V and up to 30 A (model dependent; PVA‑1500HE2 supports high‑efficiency modules up to 30 A).
  • Built‑in PV model for on‑site performance checks and STC translation when used with irradiance/temperature inputs.
  • Fast sweep‑to‑sweep timing (< 9 s at Voc ≤ 1350 V) for high throughput (up to 400 sweeps/hr, ~3.5 MW measured/hr).
  • Wireless (Wi‑Fi) interface between I‑V unit, SolSensor™ and tablet/laptop for safer, cable‑free operation.
  • Automated data capture, management and reporting via PVA Application and Excel‑based Data Analysis Tool (DAT).

Overview
The PVA‑1500 Series is a field I‑V curve tracer kit for commissioning, operations, maintenance and troubleshooting of PV arrays. It measures string‑ or module‑level I‑V and P‑V curves and computes standard PV parameters (Isc, Voc, Imp, Vmp, Pmax, fill factor, performance factor) to create baselines and detect anomalies.

Accurate I‑V curve tracing
The unit uses a capacitive load and selectable trace points (100 or 500) to produce detailed I‑V and P‑V curves. Measured data can be translated to standard test conditions when combined with irradiance and module temperature inputs.

Time‑saving interface
Use a tablet or Windows laptop as the user interface to increase tests per hour, view multiple data formats, and save measurements into a configurable array tree for efficient field workflows.

Advanced high‑efficiency PV testing
The PVA‑1500HE2 variant handles high‑efficiency, high‑capacitance modules (>19% efficiency) and strings up to 30 A. Thermal design and rapid sweep timing enable continuous high‑throughput operation even at elevated ambient temperatures.

SolSensor™ Wireless PV Reference Sensor
SolSensor™ supplies irradiance, module temperature (two thermocouple inputs) and array tilt to the PV model to predict I‑V shape and convert results to STC. It clamps to the module frame, is temperature compensated and has calibrated angular response. Communication to the I‑V unit is via Wi‑Fi (typical line‑of‑sight ≈100 m).

Data analysis and reporting
Captured data can be analyzed with the Data Analysis Tool (DAT, Excel‑based) to compile PV parameters, flag out‑of‑tolerance strings, overlay curves at combiner‑box level and export customizable PDF reports. The PVA Application and DAT streamline field‑to‑report workflows.

Training
Training (on‑demand virtual or live online) is available covering PVA operation, PV test methods and data analysis workflows.
