Product introduction Bally resistance flexing tester determines material resistance to cracking or failure at flexing creases. Applicable to flexible materials, particularly leathers, coated fabrics and textiles used in footwear uppers.

Application Used to evaluate flexing resistance of footwear upper materials. Test specimens are folded, clamped and repeatedly flexed by oscillation; damage is inspected at defined intervals. Tests may be carried out on wet or dry specimens under ambient conditions.

Principle / Feature The specimen is folded in half, one end secured in a clamp, turned inside out and the free end fixed in a second clamp at 90°. The first clamp oscillates through a set angle at a defined speed; number of cycles is recorded and specimen damage visually assessed. Suitable for wet and dry testing of uppers.
