Short Description
Dynamic water penetration tester designed to evaluate resistance of leather, artificial leather and textile footwear uppers to water ingress under repeated flexing.

Application
Used to determine the time to water penetration and the amount of water absorbed or transmitted through footwear upper materials during cyclic flexing, to assess suitability for end use and quality control.

Principle
A rectangular specimen is partially wrapped and clamped between two cylindrical clamps forming a trough. The trough is immersed in water while the clamps oscillate at constant speed, repeatedly flexing the specimen. The time until water penetration is recorded; absorbed and transmitted water mass can be measured.
