Description

Overview
The LaserCell 4000 is a Class 1 automated laser cleaning system for high-speed surface cleaning, coating removal and surface preparation in manufacturing, refurbishment and repair. Laser ablation is a non-contact process that eliminates cleaning media and reduces process waste. The turnkey modular design enables rapid installation and configurable layouts and programming tailored to parts.

Key features
  • Automated laser surface cleaning, Class 1 enclosure
  • Maximum part area: 1 x 1.5 m
  • Nine part-loading configurations for production flexibility
  • Options for single or dual 6-axis robot integration
  • Integrated, interlocked fume and dust extraction

Capabilities
Configurable laser parameters (pulse, wavelength and energy) optimize ablation for different materials. Systems support single or dual 6-axis robot arrangements to bring a laser head to a stationary part or to move parts beneath a fixed head. IPG provides process development and programming services to optimize cycle times for specific applications.

Precision surface preparation
  • Pre-cleaning to improve weld quality without substrate damage
  • Surface texturing or pre-adhesive cleaning to increase adhesion
  • Pre-cleaning before EB-PVD and plasma spray to extend coating life
  • Coating stripping for rapid repair without affecting base material
  • Cleaning of dirt, scale and oxides from rotating components for inspection
  • Mold maintenance by removing release agents and residues

Integrated fume & dust extraction
The LaserCell 4000 includes a programmable, interlocked fume extraction module controlled from the operator interface; extraction status can prevent laser operation if not active.

Software
The system ships with IPGCore (built on .NET Core and JavaScript) offering dynamic screen layouts, workflow tools, authentication, user logins and hierarchical system management utilities as part of the industrial HMI.
