OverviewThe Laser Heating System DLS-ECO is a turnkey workstation for in-house development of laser heating, curing and drying processes. It integrates IPG DLS-series lasers with projection optics inside a Class 1 laser enclosure to enable safe, repeatable process development and scale-up for industrial applications.
Key features- DLS-ECO laser efficiency: 55%
- IPG DLS series compatibility (4.5–20 kW)
- Projection optics and IPG projection head for controlled beam delivery
- Integrated visible and infrared vision; optional FLIR thermal camera and pyrometer control loop
- Water-cooled cold plate work table; optional integrated air knife and gas delivery
- Dual-monitor HMI with IPG Core software; manual part loading
- Fume extraction with flow, temperature and VOC monitoring
Sustainable, energy-efficient heating & drying- FAST: Laser processes can be up to 10× faster than conventional furnaces and convection ovens.
- EFFICIENT: Energy is delivered to the target surface only, reducing unproductive waste heat.
- GREEN: All-electric laser heating reduces reliance on fossil-fuel-based thermal processes.
Precise drying process controlThe cold-laser environment allows advanced metrology and closed-loop control not possible in traditional high-temperature ovens. Pyrometer monitoring and control loops enable precise temperature management and repeatable drying cycles across batches.
Drying process control loop (sequence)- 1. Laser at full power rapidly heats the material to the target temperature to initiate drying.
- 2. Closed-loop control prevents the material from exceeding the target temperature range.
- 3. Control loop optimizes laser power during moisture removal for stable drying rates.
- 4. Control loop reduces power and shuts the laser off when moisture removal is complete.
