Short DescriptionAlso known as an explosion-proof collector slip ring, this product is a special conductive component developed for high-risk explosive environments containing gas, coal dust, flammable chemical vapor, combustible dust and other hazardous media. Its core function is to transmit electric power and control signals stably and safely from stationary parts to rotating components during continuous 360° rotation while fully isolating electric sparks generated by rotational friction to eliminate explosion hazards.
Working Principle- Power Transmission Principle: Split structure with a stator (stationary) and rotor (rotating). Precious metal brushes contact conductive rings to maintain stable electrical connection during continuous forward and reverse 360° rotation, preventing cable twisting, winding, core breakage and insulation damage.
- Core Explosion-proof Safety Logic: Tiny electric arcs generated during contact friction are fully enclosed inside a high-strength sealed explosion-proof housing. Matched explosion-proof cable sealing glands block external gas and dust ingress, preventing internal arcs from igniting external explosive mixtures and preventing hazardous media from entering the cavity.
Core Pain Points of Using Ordinary Slip Rings in Mine Hazardous Areas- Extremely high explosion risk: Exposed sparks from ordinary slip rings can ignite gas/coal dust mixtures in mines.
- Frequent cable damage: Repeated reciprocating rotation causes cable torsion fatigue, conductor breakage and insulation cracking, leading to downtime and production losses.
- Prone to failure in corrosive underground environments: Dust, water vapor and salt spray accelerate rust and contact oxidation, causing unstable conductivity and power interruptions.
- Unstable conductive performance under long-term heavy-load operation: Poor wear resistance, large dynamic resistance fluctuations, heat generation and intensified arcing cause electric leakage risk and insulation aging.

Main Application Fields- Coal and metal mines: underground cable reels, open-pit rotating winches, rotary mining equipment, mine hoists, underground rotating monitoring equipment (representative model: HDC15-29).
- Petroleum and chemical industry: offshore platforms, explosion-proof stirring reactors, explosion-proof rotary conveying equipment, rotary inspection mechanisms for oil and gas pipelines.
- Dust explosion-proof industries: grain cleaning machinery, rotary cement equipment, powder explosion-proof packaging machinery.
- Other high-risk scenarios: explosion-proof coating equipment, high-temperature metallurgical rotary machinery, rotary equipment in flammable/explosive storage warehouses.
Differences Between Explosion-proof Slip Rings and Ordinary Slip Rings- Safety Standards: Explosion-proof slip rings require Ex explosion-proof certification; ordinary slip rings do not and are unsuitable for hazardous areas.
- Housing Structure: Explosion-proof units use high-strength stainless steel flameproof cavities; ordinary units use thin carbon steel or plastic shells without sealed flameproof capability.
- Conductive Contacts: Explosion-proof slip rings use low-spark precious metal friction pairs; ordinary slip rings use common alloys that produce continuous sparks.
- Protection Grade: Explosion-proof models have minimum IP54, mine-specific models reach IP56; ordinary slip rings often have IP20–IP44.
- Applicable Environments: Explosion-proof slip rings are designed for gas, dust, corrosion and extreme temperature differences; ordinary slip rings are for clean, non-explosive workshop conditions only.
