Overview
The sealed COMBISTOP 28 (up to IP67 protection class) is a closed, spring-applied (fail-safe) brake designed for demanding industrial environments. The standard version meets IP66 (hand-release IP65). It is suitable as a service brake for dynamic applications and as a holding brake with emergency-stop capability for static applications. The modular design allows configuration to customer specifications, including project-specific solutions beyond the standard. Torque range: 2.5 Nm to 2,000 Nm.

Options & Features
Manual release
Optional hand release allows manual opening of the COMBISTOP 28 for movement in de-energised conditions or to release a worn rotor.

Microswitch
From size 03 upwards, a microswitch is available to monitor function or wear, particularly useful for brake motors on hoists and lifting gear operated with frequency converters.

Flange
An optional flange can be supplied to provide an optimal counter-friction surface when the motor endshield lacks suitable material quality or flatness.

Shaft sealing ring / sealing plug
A shaft sealing ring can be fitted to seal a continuous shaft against the external environment; if no shaft is present, the COMBISTOP 28 can be fitted with a sealing plug.

CCV design
A CCV design is available for particularly harsh and cold environments (operation down to -40 °C).

Encoder attachment / rear-side attachments
The brake can be supplied with rear-side threaded holes and bore patterns for mounting rotary encoders, fans or sensors.

Braking torque
Braking torque can be increased or reduced during production to meet specific application requirements.

Flat design
For installations with restricted depth, housing and overall length can be reduced (flat design); product is delivered ready to install.

Customized voltages
Customized coil voltages are available on request.

Connector assembly
Products can be delivered with ready-to-connect cables, plugs, contacts or ferrules to simplify installation.

Certificates
Factory certificate 2.1 (DIN EN 10204) and acceptance test certificate 3.1 (DIN EN 10204) can be provided on request; scope and tests are agreed at order.
