Description

Overview
The AF-E 400 is an electromagnetic flowmeter for utilities and industrial automation. It is designed for measurement of conductive liquids where installation space is limited, such as cooling circuits of welding equipment, bending machines, robots and chemical dosing skids. The sensor uses a round-bore PEEK measuring tube and an ultra-compact housing to ensure stable accuracy across a wide pressure and temperature range. Integrated temperature measurement removes the need for an external temperature sensor.

Key product highlights
  • Measurement of conductive liquids (coolants, cold/hot water, chemicals, etc.)
  • Best-in-class performance for temperature range, accuracy, pressure loss and flow range
  • Ultra-compact design suitable for parallel installation and tight spaces
  • Outputs and interfaces: 4…20 mA, pulse, frequency, Modbus RTU, IO-Link

Features & Options
  • Measurement of flow rate, totalised flow and temperature up to +90°C / +194°F
  • Robust cast stainless-steel housing with 2 mm wall thickness
  • Maintains accuracy over wide pressure and temperature ranges (max. 16 barg / 230 psig)
  • Round bore tube for reduced pressure loss and high turndown ratio without cavitation risk
  • No cross talk: allows series or parallel installation with 2 mm device-to-device spacing
  • NAMUR NE 107 diagnostics
  • IO-Link for extended process data transmission and automated device configuration
  • Rotatable full-colour display for flexible readout orientation
  • Nominal sensor sizes: 6, 15, 20, 25 mm (adapters available for 40 and 50 mm); threaded connections G (male), NPT (female), Rc (female)
  • Adapters and extension options for additional thread types and larger flow ranges

Typical applications
  • Factory automation and machinery
  • Flow measurement of conductive liquids in utilities and industrial automation
  • Cooling water monitoring for bending machines, welding robots, injection moulding and web handling
  • Water consumption monitoring in washing installations (grit wash, car wash, industrial wash)
  • Flow monitoring in hot/cold water recirculation circuits
  • Dosing skids for reagents, catalysts and chemicals
