Ultra-precision metal foil precision resistor with an almost constant characteristic
The MZH series precision resistor is designed for applications where the smallest resistance changes directly determine measurement accuracy – for example in reference networks, precision voltage dividers or sensitive amplifier stages. Metal foil technology on an aluminium oxide substrate provides very high long-term stability and very low noise, so that once-adjusted circuits exhibit only minimal drift over time.
A key feature of the MZH is the almost temperature-neutral resistance behaviour in the range from 0 °C to 50 °C: within this temperature window, the temperature coefficient is practically zero and remains at < ±0.6 ppm/°C, which is negligible even in high-resolution measurement chains. Over the full specification range, the resistor operates with a temperature coefficient of < ±1 ppm/°C @ 25 °C and resistance tolerances from ±0.005%. This places the MZH series among ultra-precision resistors, where both the absolute value and the temperature dependence are tightly controlled.
The resistance range from 100 Ω to 100 kΩ covers typical values for precise voltage and current measurements, reference dividers and bridge circuits. Rated power is 0.3 W at 70 °C, with a maximum working voltage of 300 V and an operating temperature range from −65 °C to +150 °C. In this combination, the MZH is particularly suitable wherever both high accuracy and elevated ambient temperatures or self-heating of the housing must be considered – for example in laboratory and calibration equipment, precision power supplies or measurement modules in industrial systems.
