Metal foil precision resistor for highly stable measurement and reference circuits
The MFL series is a metal foil precision resistor for circuits where very tight tolerances, minimal temperature drift and high long-term stability are essential. The resistive elements are based on metal foil technology and are housed in an epoxy-moulded body with radial, tinned copper leads. This combines a compact through-hole package with properties that are optimized for precise measurement and reference tasks.
The resistance range extends – depending on style – up to 200 kΩ and already starts in the low-ohmic range. Resistance tolerances down to ±0.01% and temperature coefficients from ±2.5 ppm/°C enable very accurate operating points in measurement amplifiers, bridge circuits, reference branches or precision divider networks. The rated power of 0.125 W or 0.25 W @ 70 °C is tailored to signal and measurement applications where low power dissipation but high accuracy are required.
A key characteristic of the series is its very high long-term stability: even at rated load and 70 °C, typical resistance changes after 1000 hours are only around ±0.01%. Additional tests such as short-time overload, temperature cycling, high-temperature exposure, damp heat, soldering heat, shock and vibration keep resistance changes within the 10-4 to 10-3 range. The low current noise (typ. −42 dB) supports clean signal transmission, especially in low-noise amplifiers, precise sensor paths and sensitive measurement channels.
