Product overview
The OPTEX OA-AXIS II is an active infrared threshold presence sensor combining safety and door activation in a single unit. It integrates OPTEX presence-detection logic with a wide motion detection area suitable for automatic sliding doors.

Combination
The OA-AXIS series is based exclusively on active infrared reflection technology, merging activation and safety functions into one sensor. This design provides accurate threshold protection while offering an extended motion detection zone for reliable door opening.

Safety
Active infrared presence detection can be finely adjusted and tilted up to ±6° toward or away from the door. External safety beams are not always required. The sensor detects people or objects in or near the threshold and keeps the door open as long as presence is detected, including brief stops.

Motion Detection
The large detection area allows fast detection of traffic including trolleys and carts from any approach angle. Improved pattern depth enables detection at greater distances for convenient door activation. Presence and motion detection zones are independently adjustable.

Variety (outputs)
Multiple output configurations meet local standards and application requirements. OA-AXIS II: one relay dedicated to safety and a second relay for motion/activation. OA-AXIS T: one relay for motion/activation plus an NPN optocoupler I/O for safety.

Easy adjustment
Installation time is reduced via accessible switches and shutters; the sensor can be quickly configured for diverse applications. Use of an OPTEX infrared finder is recommended to precisely set the presence detection area.
