Product overview
The OPTEX OA-4500 is an active infrared door sensor for industrial and commercial doors. Designed as a combined activation and safety sensor, it is suitable for mounting heights from 2.5 to 6.5 m and is described for mounting heights up to 4.5 m in some marketing materials. The sensor detects presence and movement to control automatic entrances reliably.

Activation and safety
The OA-4500 uses active infrared presence detection to ensure timely opening, prevent early closing and support smooth flow of people and vehicles. It detects both moving and stationary persons and objects during the configured presence time.

Detection area
The sensor has five rows of active infrared, each row containing 12 spots. Detection rows are adjustable in depth and width to configure presence and motion zones independently for comfortable opening and safe detection.

Installation
Dip switches and trimmers enable quick configuration and reduce installation time. Use the OPTEX Infrared Finder (recommended) to lay out and verify the active infrared field.
