OverviewThe GH150 is a compact 150 kHz acoustic emission (AE) sensor designed for direct monitoring and NDT on hot metallic surfaces up to 600°C. It integrates a stainless Invar steel contact face and shell, a 1–1.2 m high-temperature flexible metal tube to isolate the cable, and a 2 m integral cable with BNC connector.
Features- Resonant frequency: 150 kHz
- Operational frequency range: 60 kHz – 400 kHz
- Extended 1–1.2 m flexible high-temperature metal tube
- Integral 2 m cable terminated with BNC connector
- Compact cylindrical body Ø19 × 19.5 mm
- H20 hold-down compatible; this version has no magnetic base
- Ingress protection: IP68
When to Use GH150- Direct AE monitoring on hot metallic structures where a compact 150 kHz sensor is required
- High-temperature pressure vessel inspection and monitoring
- Pipeline AE monitoring in hot process environments
- Tank and process equipment monitoring at elevated temperatures
- High-temperature structural testing and field troubleshooting
- Situations where an extended metal tube is needed to keep the cable connection away from direct heat
- Applications requiring AE sensing up to 600°C
Applications- Pressure vessel AE testing
- High-temperature pipeline monitoring
- Storage tank and process equipment monitoring
- Nuclear power plant equipment inspection
- Hot metallic component inspection
- Structural health monitoring at elevated temperatures
- Temporary field testing and troubleshooting on hot metal structures
Installation Notes- Verify the actual mounting surface temperature is within the sensor working range
- Clean and prepare the mounting surface before installation
- Use a suitable high-temperature couplant compatible with the measured surface temperature
- Use the recommended H20 hold-down to ensure stable contact pressure
- Route and keep the cable connection away from direct heat exposure when possible
- Avoid sharp bends, cable tension or mechanical impact near the sensor
- Verify channel response prior to formal testing; perform regular verification for long-term monitoring
Compatible Accessories- Preamplifiers: PAS / PAV
- Hold-down: H20
- Signal cable models: SYV-50-3 / STYV-50-2
FAQ (selected)- Q1: What is the maximum working temperature of GH150? A1: The GH150 operates from -20°C to 600°C when installed with appropriate coupling, mounting force and cable routing.
- Q2: What is the resonant frequency of GH150? A2: Resonant frequency is 150 kHz; operational bandwidth is approximately 60 kHz–400 kHz.
- Q3: Does this GH150 sensor have a magnetic base? A3: No. This version does not include a magnetic base; it is designed for H20 hold-down installation. A magnetic-mount version is available separately.
- Q6: Does GH150 have a built-in preamplifier? A6: No. GH150 is a passive AE sensor and requires a compatible external preamplifier such as PAS or PAV.
