ProblemThe plant experienced regular production stoppages due to bridging in a 140 m³ flat‑bottom silo containing polyurethane dust. Manual ringing was required 4–5 times per month. The customer sought a preventive system to avoid silo blockages.
SolutionSTANDARD INDUSTRIE’s technical team installed 3 AIRCHOC® AC3 air cannons on the silo. The equipment was recommended in ATEX version because polyurethane dust is potentially explosive. In parallel, the customer cleaned clogged filters to remove an additional cause of bridging.
ResultAfter installation of the AIRCHOC® air cannon cleaning system, the plant recorded a clear reduction in production stoppages and in the frequency of cleaning due to clogging. Occasional vaults still occurred but were reliably cleared with intermittent AIRCHOC® shots.
