Overview
The Tyco® RFII-MRI non-magnetic sprinkler is intended for use inside MRI system rooms. The sprinkler was tested up to 7 Tesla, allowing it to withstand more than twice the magnetic strength of a standard MRI apparatus (typically 3 Tesla). The Tyco® RFII-MRI series comprises 5.6 K-factor, non-magnetic, concealed-pendent sprinklers available in quick-response (3-mm bulb) and standard-response (5-mm bulb) variants. Each full assembly consists of a sprinkler/support cup assembly and a separately ordered cover plate/retaining ring assembly. The separable two-piece design enables installation and pressure testing of the fire protection system before installing a suspended ceiling or applying a finish to a fixed ceiling, allows removal of suspended ceiling panels for access without shutting down the system, and provides 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) of vertical adjustment for sprinkler drop length flexibility.
