The Honeywell STT170 series of programmable temperature transmitters provides cost-effective solutions for temperature monitoring applications. Compared to direct-wired temperature sensor monitoring points, the STT170 series of transmitters delivers increased accuracy, safety and reliability while also reducing wiring costs. These transmitters automatically linearize the temperature output signal bound by the upper range value and lower range value established by the user. In addition, the user can program high or low limit alarms to activate in the case of sensor failure.

|
Typical Applications
Convert RTD and thermocouple inputs to analog signals for direct interface with indicators, recorders, controllers, PLC, DCS and PC-based SCADA systems.
Avoid sending weak, low-level temperature sensors signals through a noisy plant by converting them to high-level signals that will accurately withstand long-range transmission.
Use affordable transmitters in place of direct sensor-to-DCS wiring to eliminate long runs of expensive extension wires.
Use just one instrument to precisely calculate averages and differentials of multiple temperature sensors.
Increase DCS accuracy by using our temperature sensors and transmitters, calibrated to a specific range, instead of direct DCS or PLC inputs which imprecisely measure over the entire sensor operating range.

HotBoss 100 Temperature Sensor
The HotBoss 100 is a versatile, multi-range temperature transmitter. Operating from 10-30VDC, this unit generates a 4-20mA analog signal proportional to the probe temperature, over the designated range. Probes are available in three forms, 1) ambient air, 2) flat, copper, bolt-down contact for bolting to pillow block or motor mount and 3) tubular, SS with 1/4" NPT bushing for replacing a grease fitting on a gear box. For ambient monitoring under 60C (140F), probe is usually installed on control box. Above 60C, mount probe externally using 6-ft long cable supplied.
Custom probe styles and ranges may be specified, including low/high extremes of -20C (-4F) to 200C (392F). Controller unit (5x5x2") is wall mounted. Install one probe at each bearing. A master control box with power supply, sensor electronics, set-point relays, digital meter, alarm strobe/horn and control outputs can be supplied.

TT420 temperature transmitters, an integral part of the Electro-Sentry™ Hazard Monitoring System, combine a temperature sensor, signal conditioning and 2-wire loop-powered 4-20mA transmitter into one compact package. All models are compatible with standard I.S. barriers and PLC analog inputs and are identical with the exception of the measurement probe, of which there are 3 options:
- The TT420F mounts onto any flat surface with a #10 machine screw.
- The TT420S screws into any surface with a 1/4”- 28 tap.
- The TT420Z mounts into 1/8” or 1/4” NPT grease-fitting (zerk) taps.
TT420 temperature transmitters can be used to monitor temperature on a wide range of machinery: conveyors, bucket elevators, motors, gearboxes, pumps, turbines, fans, curing ovens, centrifuges, agitators and hammermills. All models come ready to use right out of the box, requiring no user calibration. Brass rub blocks are available for use with models TT420F and TT420S, please consult factory for more information.

The Model 972 Solid State Loop-Powered Vibration and Temperature Sensors are specifically designed for industrial machinery monitoring. The Sensor continuously measures both vibration level and temperature, key machinery health parameters, and transmit the data directly into a PLC, providing accurate level monitoring and with support alarm and machinery shutdown capabilities.
The vibration level output indicates either Velocity or peak Acceleration with factory set ranges of 0-1, 0-2, and 0-5 inches/sec and 0-10, 0-20, and 0-50Gs pk respectively. The frequency response range is from 5 to 2000Hz and ±5% accuracy is maintained over an operating temperature range of from 0 to 100 degrees C. The sensor is offered in two case styles, both of which are case isolated with outputs accessible via standard 4 pin connectors. The Model 972-H1 is mounted with an integral ¼-28-socket head cap screw which allows the case to be rotated to any 360 degree position prior to lockdown. The 972-H2 is mounted with a removable ¼-28 base mounting stud. Consult the factory for customized versions of these sensors

Measurement Computing Corporation, a market leader in low-cost data acquisition, has announced the release of two Web-enabled temperature input devices, the WEB-TEMP and the WEB-TC, which allow users to take measurements and monitor them via the Internet. The new products, modeled after MCC’s popular USB-TEMP and the USB-TC products, have corresponding performance, but are Ethernet compatible with built-in Web servers that write temperature data to their own Web page for immediate Internet access from virtually everywhere! The WEB-TEMP provides eight temperature input channels, each supporting all of the common temperature sensors (J, K, R, S, T, N, E, and B thermocouples; 2-, 3-, or 4-wire RTDs; thermistors, and semiconductor temperature sensors), and 8 bits of digital I/O. Each channel of the WEB-TEMP is capable of monitoring any of the supported input types, so users can mix and match the sensor to the measurement without additional signal conditioning. Moreover, the internal measurement electronics accuracy of the WEB-TEMP vastly exceeds the accuracy specifications of the temperature sensors, thereby recording the most accurate data possible. The WEB-TC specifications are similar to those of the WEB-TEMP, but support thermocouple sensors only. All eight WEB-TEMP (or WEB-TC) inputs have 500 VDC isolation to the power supply and Ethernet port, protecting both the computer and the input device from damage. The WEB-TEMP and WEB-TC ship with an impressive array of software included in the MCC DAQ Software CD. The disk includes applications, drivers, and libraries that meet the needs of programmers and nonprogrammers alike.
