The L-700 Spindle Alignment System has been helping Detroit build quality automobiles for over 10 years. Prior to the L-700, transfer lines were aligned with indicators and alignment bars. This often resulted in frequent shutdowns due to poorly aligned spindles causing premature tool wear. Poor alignment also resulted in high reject rates, excessive downtime and poor productivity. On one line alone, the L-700 was able to save one GM plant $1.2 million in reduced tooling costs and downtime in the first year of operation after laser aligning the whole transfer line.
The L-700 can also be used for aligning the critical components of a lathe, aligning spindle boxes of large rotary dial machines, aligning the output shaft to the centerline of a twin-barrel extruder and many other applications. When combined with our P-405 Remote Optical Square, the L-700 can also easily measure cross-slide squareness on a lathe

The Fixturlaser OffsetXA fixtures provide express alignment of offset mounted machines.
Machines with offset drives are often thought of as insensitive to angular errors between driving and driven shaft. Vibration analyses and experiences from paper industry professionals have proved that this is not the case. Conventional alignment methods cannot provide the needed level of accuracy. Using the Fixturlaser XA together with the Fixturlaser OffsetXA expansion kit, you can precision align any offset mounted machine as fast as you align any other shafts. The Fixturlaser OffsetXA Expansion kit consists of both software and fixtures.
The Fixturlaser OffsetXA fixture is equipped with a laser pointer, which means that the alignment system is not needed in order to mount the fixtures. The fixtures only have to be adjusted until both the lasers are hitting the centre of the opposing target. Thanks to this feature, the mounting can be performed fast (read more about the Fixturlaser OffsetXA Expansion kit and its software in the Fixturlaser XA brochure.

The OL2RXA fixtures - now a patented technology - provide a unique function for shaft alignment of critical machines.
Measurements of dynamic movements are used for critical machines within industries, where large temperature differences or other disturbing factors exist. The need for measurement of dynamic movements is often indicated by a high level of vibrations. For some machines these high levels remain even after having performed shaft alignment in cold condition. The Fixturlaser XA system combined with the OL2RXA Expansion kit helps you to overcome this costly and time consuming problem by performing offline-to-running measurements. The measurements provide you with machine unique target values to be used for compensation during shaft alignment. The Fixturlaser OL2RXA Expansion kit consists of both software and fixtures.
The Fixturlaser OL2RXA fixtures are both equipped with a laser pointer, which means that the Fixturlaser XA alignment system is not needed in order to mount the fixtures. Thanks to this feature the mounting can be performed fast and by someone who does not necessarily need to have the knowledge about shaft alignment and Fixturlaser XA (read more about the Fixturlaser OL2RXA Expansion kit and software in our brochure Fixturlaser XA P-0222.)

Evaluate directly in true 3D
See the result as a true 3D image in the display unit directly after measuring. Then evaluate the result easily with different calculation settings, for example three point reference, best fit or all positive. This can also be done directly on site without having to stop to go to a PC with separate analysis programs, which was the case previously. This makes production much more efficient.
The system includes laser transmitter D23 Spin with power rotating head. This is how it works in brief: The laser beam from the transmitter rotates constantly and creates a reference plane over the entire measurement object. Measurements are performed quicker as you do not have to align the beam for each new measurement position. You place the detector at the desired measurement points and register the reading by a push of a button. In principle, one person can perform the measurement themselves. It is then possible to generate a PDF report containing graphs and measurement data directly from the measurement system’s display unit. All information about the measurement object is documented.

The Fixturlaser XA Geometry's graphical user interface is icon based facilitating interpretation. It has the same Flash animated color screen with color coded values and results, and the green arrows showing in which direction to move the machine or the measurement object.
The system is available with wireless units for data transfer, so that you can move around in full freedom when recording measurement points or during adjustments.
The documentation of measurement reports is handled via the USB ports for transfer to a PC or other storage media of your choice.
We offer the following applications for measurements of:
straightness
circular flatness
rectangular flatness
full bore and half bore
EXPRESS GEOMETRY FUNCTIONS FOR YOUR BENEFIT:
Best fit
You have the option to allow the system to calculate a reference line or plane, which illustrates the best fit, i.e. the least deviation for each measurement point in relation to the reference line or plane that has the least deviation of the measurement points.
Express Navigation
When you select which points to measure, you will find that the highlighted measurement point is surrounded by its neighbor points enabling you to choose them without exiting the measurement point screen.
Use of Reference Receiver
With an additional receiver, you can use it as a reference receiver and zero it at the start of the measurement process. You are then able to control, without exiting the measurement screen, that the transmitter has not been moved during the actual measurement, which would cause incorrect measurement values.

LAP laser of PY series with green beam are used, where visibility of red laser lines is not sufficient.
This can be depending on surface (e.g. red or black, wet stone) or light conditions (e.g. bright sunlight). Green light has a visibility about five times higher compared to red light, because human eyes have their maximum sensitivity in this wavelength area.
The laser beam is collimated for optimum line width in working distance. The new SUPERLINE optic allows to set the line width manually and to position the center of the brightness distribution along the laser line.
The robust housing made of coated aluminium protects laser, electronic circuitry and precision optics. The Peltier-Cooler, marked by the black fins, takes care of the right working temperature and prolongs life expectancy. Temperature is tracked internally, and the laser is swiched off in case of high temperatures to protect the laser source from damage.

* SUPERLINE optics
* passive cooling and high temperature swich-off
* standard diameter 40 mm

Easy-Laser® D160 BTA is attached in a few seconds (magnets) with the laser transmitter on one of the sheaves and the detector on the other. The transmitter generates a laser plane parallel to the reference sheave. The detector reads the position in relation to the laser plane and provides a live digital display of both offset and angular value. This makes the alignment of the adjustable machine very simple. The accuracy of the digital readout also means that you can align within prescribed tolerances and rely on the result.
The separate display unit makes it all even easier, as you can read off and follow the adjustment at the precise point on the machine where the adjustment is made. The display is also backlit for optimum visibility in poor lighting conditions.

The Fixturlaser PAT will be the final solution to all your belt alignment needs
With the Fixturlaser PAT, you are never in doubt on whether your belt transmissions are aligned or not. By using the groove as reference, you will achieve a precise alignment which reduces belt wear, bearing failures and vibrations.
The Fixturlaser PAT comes with two line laser transmitters, each equipped with two spring loaded guides which fit into the pulley grooves. The Fixturlaser PAT is equipped with various sized removable guides to fit standard sheave sizes A-E (6 mm - 40 mm). Additional guides for alignment of timing belts are avilable as accessories.
The use of two laser transmitters with integrated targets, makes it very easy to find out what kind of alignment that is required. Parallel offset, angular error and twist are instantly visible to the operator. Within a few minutes, the operator can determine if the machine requires alignment or not.
The alignment process is as easy as the mounting. Just turn on the lasers and look at the opposite mounted unit. The laser draws a line on the target label as in the illustration below. If necessary, adjust your machine position until the laser lines are aligned with the centre mark on both units.
