Properties of the three-phase AC motors
The long, slim three-phase AC motors made of extruded aluminium profile are optimally attuned to the CDA3000 inverter and the CDD3000 servocontroller. They usually construct a size smaller than standard IEC motors (with the same output in mode S1) and are dynamic as asynchronous servomotors.

U.S. Motor’s Unimount 125® is a totally enclosed fan cooled motor with a 1.25 service factor. These TEFC motors meet standard NEMA requirements including 40°C ambient conditions, class F insulation (with class B temperature rise), NEMA Design B and usable up to 3,300 feet above sea level. The Unimount has an aluminum alloy extruded frame that improves heat dissipation for cool operation and long life (180 frame and larger). Die cast aluminum brackets have steel or cast iron bearing cavity inserts to ensure reliable performance under severe load applications. The 56 and 140 frames are rolled steel.
Unimount motors offer the widest range of electrical and mechanical features of any motor on the market today. The diagonally split conduit box is oversized compared to NEMA standards. Other mechanical
features include a rugged motor base which is removable on 180 frame and larger to allow conversion to a footless configuration.

OSWALD asynchronous servomotors series QD are particularly suitable when heavy demands are required with respect to high speed range, dynamics, running smoothness and operational reliability.
OSWALD 4-pole QD motors in the power range from 1 kW to 150 kW have quadratic frames and are characterized by a high power density with a small space requirement. They are supplied in IP 54 to IP 65 enclosures
as well as in all relevant mountings (B3, B5, V1, etc.).
The standard version of the totally enclosed motor is cooled by an external axial blower. A high degree of reliability and low maintenance requirements result from the use of prelubricated bearings as well as stable housing and bearing plates.
The attachment of an incremental encoder or a resolver is designed, allowing field oriented speed control with a frequency converter. Motors without encoders can also be operated excellently through the use of a
frequency converter control.

AC induction hoist and traction motors offer higher efficiency and smaller size than DC sepex or series wound motors with the same output and thermal performance.
They are without commutator and brushes and require no maintenance. With this type of motor, acceleration and braking torque at higher speeds are not limited by the commutator, which results in shorter stopping distances without the use of a mechanical brake. Product Overview
Our Weather Protected Type I (WPI)
Holloshaftâ motors are constructed to minimize the entrance of rain, snow and airborne particles. Our enclosures exceed NEMA requirements because U.S. Motors has built in the extra protection needed for rugged outdoor applications. The ventilation system is designed to provide optimum cooling to the thrust bearing and electrical components and is available in all motor sizes.
These motors allow for easy pump impeller adjustment and maintain alignment of pump base to motor drive clutches. Steady bushings are available to give the mechanical characteristics of a solid shaft motor.
In our design concept, the high thrust vertical motor is arranged into four functional zones - the top zone is small and light to assure simplified access to the coupling area and inspection of the thrust bearing. Below this is the coupling area and the essential elements of thrust bearings with a large weather protected air intake to cool the motor and thrust bearing.
Next, the center, or winding section, develops the driving torque and includes the latest Insulife insulation systems. And below, the mounting base is compact and designed for momentary upthrust of the pump.
The benefit of the four zone design is a motor which is more easily installed and serviced and which allow operator protection and convenience.
