Multi-component force measurement places high demands on the measuring device. The characteristics of the force vector to be measured largely determine the result. The size and direction of the force application point, as well as the dynamics, should have as little effect as possible on the process.
With the new Kistler Type 9327, 9347, 9367 and 9377 sensors, our company's established experience and know-how is now available even for multi-component force measurements carried out by the customer. The precisely preloaded measuring elements are easy to fit and, as they come ready calibrated from the factory, they can be used immediately for multi-component force measurements.

| Honeywell Sensing and Control Force sensors operate on the principle that the resistance of silicon implanted piezoresistors will increase when the resistors flex under any applied force. The sensor concentrates force from the application, through the stainless steel plunger, directly to the silicon sensing element. The amount of resistance changes in proportion to the amount of force being applied. This change in circuit resistance results in a corresponding mV output level. |

Hand Held Electronic Force Gauge
An ergonomically designed hand held force gauge.
ADVANTAGES
User comfort "'Ergonomically" designed - for ease of use
One piece unit
Very high accuracy
Swivel head allows access to difficult to reach positions
As with all welding procedures, it is important to eliminate as many variables as possible in order to achieve optimum welding consistently over long periods.
Electrode force is one of the critical parameters in obtaining repeatable, reliable resistance spot welds.
Force can vary because of variable factory air pressure, water in the air lines causing air cylinders to deteriorate and loss of air pressure due to worn seals.
This self contained instrument uses a cell with a force detector to provide accurate digital read out for auditing weld electrode forces.
Accuracy of this instrument is better than 0.2% and can be switched to read 0-2000 kg, 0-20.00 kN or 0-4400lbs.
In cases of difficult access the head of the swivel head gauge can be swiveled at least ±72º up or down and rotates at least ±90º. Once the desired position is reached it can be fixed by a simple hand tightened knob. A 90 mm long handle is provided for optional use with 2 mountain positions either in-line or at 90º.
A support wrist strap is attached to the gauge so that in the event that it is forced out of the operators hand by misaligned electrodes, it need not fall to the floor and be damaged. |
|
Faults in welding tongs or incorrect process parameters in welding can result in production centre waste or defective parts. Checking the industrial electrode force periodically permits spark malfunctions to be detected at an early stage so that repairs can be carried out in good time.
The new Type 9833A test sensor allows precise and reliable measurements to be carried out with minimal electrode gaps. The built-in charge amplifier simplifies the task of mounting and helps to ensure the reliability required by the automobile industry.

| The MM-601A is an industrial electrode force measuring device for resistance welding stations. By changing the load sell sensor, it is capable of measuring from 0.20 kg to 950 kg (0.44 to 2111 lbs) of weld pressure. |

FUTEK Advanced Sensor Technologies Multi Axis Load Cell are designed to measure a multiple of forces and moments simultaneously with a single Load Cell.
Multi Axis Force gages can accurately measure up to six components (3 forces and 3 moments) of load. For example, Independent strain gage bridges are used to measure three directions of force: Longitude, Latitude, and Vertical, as well as, the moments about each force direction. Separate receptacles or cables are provided for each axis of measurement. A careful structural analysis has been done to isolate the forces and moments, which results in a reduction of cross-talk sensitivities.
All designs are one piece flexures, machined and gauged to give optimum output, stiffness and durability. For example, one of our more innovative designs, the Stick Shift/Gear Shift Knob Transducer offers a lightweight, robust feature comprised of Anodized Aluminum and weighing as little as 9 oz. Its special ergonomically designed cover contains anti-slip notches for proper handling coupled with less hand strain on the user. |
|
The quality of a spot weld depends on the force applied by the electrodes together with the value of the welding current. For control programs, measuring the force applied by the electrodes is extremely important for maintaining constant production conditions. The Welding Tester instrument is designed for measuring the closing force on welding heads, which can be used either for setting up or for periodical maintenance. The tips are exchangeable for measuring the force applied by different forms of electrodes; the lowest closing dimension is 3 mm.
Different models are available for measuring 0–5000N up to 0-20000N. The new tool has all the ruggedness, quality and accuracy of the other tools in the CENTOR family, specially designed for taking “nomad” measurements in production shops.
