Product nameAdsorption dryer DRYBERG® AD820
What does an adsorption dryer do?Regenerative adsorption dryers use a porous desiccant that adsorbs moisture by collecting it in its pores, allowing large amounts of water to be retained by a relatively small quantity of desiccant. Common desiccants include silica gel, activated alumina and molecular sieves.
Principle of operationThe dryer comprises two columns (towers). Adsorption occurs under pressure in the first column while the second column is regenerated at ambient pressure using a portion of already dried compressed air that is depressurized. When one column becomes saturated, automatic switching occurs and the process continues without a pressure drop at the outlet. Regeneration is achieved by decompressing a small part of the dry compressed air, which becomes extremely dry during expansion and regenerates the desiccant.
