Description

Overview
Provides protection against accidental releases of toxic gases such as chlorine, hydrogen fluoride and sulfur dioxide by containing and neutralizing vapor emissions.

Key points
  • Field-proven scrubbing technology with multiple real-world containment and treatment records.
  • Uses a non-proprietary scrubbing medium available with NSF certification for potable water applications.
  • Wet scrubbing medium avoids the overheating issues associated with some dry media alternatives.

Description
The RJ-2000® emergency scrubber system is engineered to contain and neutralize chlorine vapors resulting from gas leaks or catastrophic cylinder failures. Evoqua Emergency Vapor Scrubber Systems have been independently tested for chlorine releases ranging from 150 lb up to one ton, and for release rates up to 100 lb/min, with maximum tested discharge concentrations not exceeding 2 ppm.

Treatment Flowrates
  • 3000 – 5000 cfm
  • (5100 – 8500 m3/h)

Features
  • Factory-assembled and tested in ISO-9001 certified facilities to simplify installation.
  • Independent full-scale testing under catastrophic release conditions.
  • Compact, low-profile design suitable for indoor installations.
  • FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic) construction for corrosion resistance and structural strength.
  • Optional integral secondary containment.
  • Optional heat trace and insulation for cold environments.
  • RJ-150 Series: designed to contain and treat up to eight 150-lb chlorine cylinders.
  • RJ-2000 Series: designed to contain and treat 1 ton (2000 lb), with reference capacities up to 100 tons of chlorine.
  • RJ-2000® PT high-capacity variant for exhaust rates up to 35,000 CFM.
  • Minimal maintenance requirements—suitable for remote or unmanned locations.
