Description

Product description
EXAIR's Adjustable Air Jets are an adjustable version of our High Velocity Air Jets. They deliver a focused, high-velocity airstream that is precisely adjusted via a micrometer gap indicator to control flow and force for targeted industrial tasks such as part ejection, chip removal and drying.

Applications
  • Part cleaning
  • Chip removal
  • Liquid blowoff
  • Part cooling
  • Material conveying
  • Part ejection
  • Fiber conveying
  • Air assist

Advantages
  • Reduced compressed air consumption
  • Approx. 10 dBA average noise reduction
  • Improved blowoff and entrainment performance
  • Compact footprint for confined installations
  • Meets OSHA noise and dead-end pressure requirements
  • Available in Brass and Type 303 Stainless Steel

Materials
Brass – for general-purpose applications. Maximum temperature 400°F (204°C).
Type 303 Stainless Steel – for higher temperatures and corrosive environments. Maximum temperature 800°F (426°C).

Accessories
  • Stay Set Hose – flexible repositioning hose with memory; mount near the application and bend to aim the airstream. Retains position until physically moved.
  • Swivel Fittings – allow ±25° adjustment of blowing angle to optimize performance and reduce noise; available in Type 303 or 316 Stainless Steel.
  • Magnetic Bases – provide horizontal or vertical mounting for Stay Set Hose or nozzle assemblies; include shutoff valve to vary force and flow.

Performance (excerpt)
Adjustable Air Jet Performance
Air Consumption: 18 SCFM (509 SLPM)
Force*: 16 Ozs (454 grams)
Sound Level: 83 dBA
*Force measured at 12" (305 mm) from target with a .006" (0.15 mm) setting. Sound level measured at 3' (914 mm). All measurements at 80 PSIG (5.5 BAR).

How it works
Air Jets use the Coanda effect (attachment of a high-velocity fluid to a surface) to entrain surrounding air. A small amount of compressed air is throttled through an internal ring nozzle above sonic velocity, creating a vacuum that draws large volumes of ambient air through the jet. Both outlet and inlet can be ducted for remote positioning. If the outlet is blocked, flow reverses at pressures well below OSHA dead-end requirements.
