Description

Product Description
The Hardinge Sure-Grip® Expanding Collet System is engineered for internal gripping of larger-diameter bores on lathes and arbors. The #250 Series covers 3/4" to 1" (19.05 to 25.4 mm). Collets are offered in 1/64" increments and each collet will securely hold a workpiece bore up to -0.001" (0.0254 mm) under the nominal collet size.

Advantages
  • Instant centering of the arbor—no adjustment after mounting
  • Quick changeover for reduced setup time
  • Wide gripping range per collet (fewer collets required)
  • True parallel gripping even when contacting half the collet body
  • High gripping force for stable machining
  • Light gripping available for small bores down to 1/8" (3.175 mm)
  • Built-in safety stop to prevent overexpansion
  • Exact part length control for repeatable results
  • Interchangeable collets for consistent capacity across spindle styles
