OverviewRulon® LR is a ceramic‑filled PTFE material engineered for sleeve and sliding bearing applications. It is compatible with most hardened steel substrates (mild steel acceptable) and exhibits near‑universal chemical inertness; only molten sodium and fluorine at elevated temperature/pressure show significant attack. For continuous, non‑lubricated service Rulon® LR can operate up to 10,000 PV, with higher values possible in intermittent service. The material is molded and precision machined to provide high creep and abrasion resistance.
ApplicationsRulon® LR is suitable for continuous, non‑lubricated sliding, rotating and oscillating parts. Typical critical parts include:
- Consumer bearings and wear components (e.g., high‑speed blender parts)
- Industrial bearings (chemical pump components)
- Energy spring inserts and poppet valve components
- Slide bearings for pipelines and linear guides
- Piston rings, molded bearings and components, flanged and thrust bearings, stamped/form‑formed seals, extruded profiles, machined parts and molded shapes
Performance highlights- Low dry friction
- Elimination of stick‑slip
- Reduced hardware abrasion
- Minimal moisture absorption
- Dimensional stability across aggressive chemicals
