Description

Product overview
Rulon® 641 is a mineral-filled PTFE bearing compound formulated for sanitary and industrial applications. Manufactured from FDA and USDA compliant materials and meeting USP Class VI requirements, it provides low friction and stable dimensional behavior across a wide temperature and chemical range. Typical continuous non-lubricated service is up to 10,000 PV (higher for intermittent service). Typical static load guidance is around 1,000 psi (6.9 MPa) at room temperature; actual deformation depends on wall thickness, temperature and applied load.

Compatibility & sanitary use
The white, stain-resistant compound is suitable for strict sanitation environments and some direct-contact applications. Its compatibility with harder mating surfaces makes it suitable for food, beverage and pharmaceutical bearing and sealing components where regulatory compliance is required.

Applications
  • Pumps
  • Mixers
  • Compressors
  • Food and beverage appliances
  • Chute liners
  • Electrical insulators
  • Linear slides
  • Shaft bearings
  • Wear bands
  • Static and dynamic seals

Performance highlights
  • Low dry friction (typical coefficient: 0.10–0.30)
  • Elimination of stick/slip
  • Reduced hardware abrasion
  • Minimal moisture absorption
  • Dimensional stability in aggressive chemicals
  • High allowable PV (continuous up to 10,000 PV; specific feature tables cite Max PV ~0.35 MPa·m/s for dry/lubricated conditions)

Standard Specifications
Materials: white fluoropolymer, engineered mineral-filled PTFE compound
Manufacturing: compression molding
Service temperature: -260°C to +315°C
Mechanical strength (typical): ~6.9 MPa (1,000 psi)
Friction coefficient: 0.10–0.30 (typical)
Max PV (feature table): 0.35 MPa·m/s (dry/lubricated, application dependent)
Available forms & dimensions: rods/tubes (Ø up to 1.2 m × L 3 m), sheets (610 mm × 80 mm), tapes (W 1 m × T = 0.086–6 mm)

Lifetime & reliability
Designed for precision fit, Rulon® 641 delivers long service life where wear control, low friction and dimensional stability under chemical and thermal stress are required. Deformation and lifetime depend on installation, load cycles, temperature and mating surface.
