OverviewRulon® J is a gold-colored, reinforced all-polymeric PTFE compound engineered for low friction and controlled wear against soft mating surfaces such as 316 stainless steel, aluminum, mild steel, brass and many plastics. The material is shaft-friendly, self-lubricating and suitable for bearing and wear-component applications where stick-slip and abrasion must be minimized.
Performance & Typical UsesRulon® J delivers one of the lowest coefficients of friction among commercially available blended PTFE compounds, making it ideal for high-speed, low-load applications. Typical uses include industrial wear pads, production compressors, start/stop mechanisms, linear guides and other components requiring consistent low friction and reduced abrasion.
Manufacturing & FormulationThe compound is produced by compression molding and precision machining from PTFE and polymer-filled PTFE composites. The engineered formulation controls tribological properties to match application-specific requirements and environments.
