Description

Product description
Rulon® AR is a light maroon, engineered ceramic‑filled PTFE material designed for seals, bearings and bonded coatings of sliding surfaces. It is more flexible than some Rulon® grades and provides extended service life and dimensional stability in continuous dry or non‑lubricated conditions.

Performance overview
This filled PTFE combines high compressive strength, low coefficient of friction, chemical resistance and electrical insulation with excellent abrasion and corrosion resistance. It operates in a wide temperature range and can tolerate high PV conditions for many applications, with intermittent use extending allowable PV values.

Applications
  • Pumps
  • Mixers
  • Compressors
  • Appliances
  • Insulators
  • Linear slides
  • Pipe supports
  • Wear bands
  • Seals and bonded coatings of sliding surfaces (static and dynamic)

Material forms and typical offerings
Standard offerings include compression‑molded bearings and components, skived sheets, stamped or machined seals, extruded shapes, rods, tubes, tapes and machined parts. The material is suitable for environments including steam, wet, dry and vacuum.

Key benefits
  • Low coefficient of friction
  • High compressive strength
  • Chemical inertness and dimensional stability in many chemicals
  • Excellent abrasion and corrosion resistance
  • Electrical insulation
  • Long service life in non‑lubricated applications

Performance highlights (from product charts)
  • Superior dry friction
  • Stick/slip elimination
  • Reduced hardware abrasion
  • Minimal moisture absorption
  • Dimensional stability in a broad range of chemicals

Technical specifications
  • Materials: Light maroon fluoropolymer; engineered ceramic‑filled
