OverviewContinental Industry blowers are designed for demanding industrial applications across multiple sectors. With over 40 years of activity and more than 30,000 units produced, the latest generation of blowers emphasizes high efficiency. Standard units cover a capacity range from 100 to 55,000 m3/h and reach nominal pressures around 2 bar.
ApplicationsThese blowers operate in a wide variety of climatic and industrial environments, including Arctic conditions and very hot regions. Typical installations include gas industry systems and sewage treatment plants in areas such as Siberia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.
Design features- Inlet and outlet heads and intermediate partitions available in cast iron or aluminium.
- Units can include up to 10 delivery stages depending on required pressure.
- Heads and intermediate sections are secured with steel tie rods; inlet/outlet connections are normally vertical but can be supplied horizontally on request.
- Tightness between components is ensured by specially designed seals.
RotorRotors are cast from an aluminium alloy and statically balanced after machining. Designs are available in radial or curved profiles. Each finished rotor is mounted on a carbon steel shaft and the complete assembly is dynamically balanced to ensure a minimum vibration amplitude of 30 MIC.
Bearings and sealingBearings are installed in independent cast iron housings bolted to the inlet and outlet heads to simplify maintenance access. Sealing options include graphite clamps or, for larger machines, carbon fibre rings held by stainless steel springs to minimise leakage. For aggressive gases a double mechanical seal is available. Bearings are normally lubricated with special grease or oil.
