OverviewDrum microfiltration units are used as a final stage in water purification. These compact systems can be installed in channels or pressure lines and offer efficient removal of suspended solids with low energy, installation and maintenance costs. The mechanical simplicity and durable stainless steel construction make them suitable for municipal and industrial applications.
Principle of operationContaminated water passes through a rotating filter drum where gravity-driven filtration retains particles on the mesh. When fouling exceeds set limits, drum rotation activates an automatic countercurrent wash that flushes contaminants to the drain. Mesh sizes from 15 μm to 3 mm enable removal of a wide range of suspended matter. An effective cleaning system and robust stainless steel design ensure long service life; flexible drive belts allow reliable operation in aggressive environments and with frequent start-stop cycles.
