OverviewFlygt vertical-shaft mixers from the 4800 Series are designed for efficient mixing in deep tanks used in wastewater treatment and fermentation processes. They handle a wide range of liquids, including dense and viscous sludges, and support control of anaerobic, hypoxic and fermentative conditions regardless of tank depth or geometry.
Common applications- Fermentation tanks
- Denitrification chambers
- Sludge storage and handling tanks
4800 Series mixer designComponents are engineered for continuous operation over extended service periods. The motor shaft runs parallel to the drive shaft; the rigid drive shaft and purpose-designed impellers deliver high mixing efficiency with low energy demand. Available impellers include a three-blade hydrophilic propeller and a non-blocking Banana impeller. Banana impellers, identifiable by their yellow blades, are self-cleaning during short-term reverse operation, improving operation where fibrous materials are present.
Configuration and selectionThe Flygt 4800 Series offers multiple configuration options to match process requirements: impeller type, blade count, shaft length, motor power and installation method. Long-shaft configurations can be fitted with single or multiple impellers as needed for the application.
