Overview
Flygt low-speed mixers provide controlled tank mixing for industrial and wastewater applications. The 4400 Series combines a purpose-designed rotor, robust shaft seals and a resin-impregnated stator to deliver long service life and low operating costs.

Design and construction
The 4400 Series features a unique rotor profile that minimizes axial thrust and reduces energy consumption. The mixers are driven by a squirrel-cage induction motor; stator windings are resin-impregnated and rated at 180°C (355°F) insulation for superior thermal resistance. Shaft seals are Flygt-manufactured tungsten carbide (WCCR) units offering high mechanical strength and excellent sliding properties to reduce wear and leakage risk.

Installation and maintenance
Mixers are installed on stiffened guide rails at optimized depths to ensure efficient circulation and to withstand variable forces in the tank. The guide-rail and lifting system enables safe retrieval for inspection and service. A single lifting crane can operate multiple units, and the lower mounting handle allows controlled rotation during positioning.

Types
The 4400 Series is modular with three basic models. By selecting different motor sizes, gear ratios and impeller diameters, units can be tailored to specific mixing duties and process requirements.
