Wastewater pumping station

Overview
The TOP insert is a bottom insert for sewage pumping stations, designed to minimise sediment and scum accumulation and reduce maintenance needs. Suitable for industrial wastewater, domestic sewage, rainwater and drainage. Pump and tank component selection emphasises operational reliability and low-maintenance operation.

Problem
Sewage is a heterogeneous medium that often contains heavy solids and mineral or organic impurities. In traditional basins sediments settle on the bottom, causing blockages, reduced pumping efficiency and anaerobic decomposition with odours.

TOP sewage pumping station
The TOP insert provides an economical solution to lower operating costs. Its patented bottom geometry directs incoming flow toward the pump while limiting sediment accumulation. Poorly designed basins increase cleaning time and disposal costs.

Application
TOP bottom inserts reduce solids and sludge accumulation by two principles:

• reduced bottom surface exposed to sediments so solids collect beneath the pump and can be sucked in
• patented geometry that creates turbulent bottom flow to lift sediments into the flow for pumping

Hydrodynamic flush valve
The hydrodynamic flush valve provides automatic cleaning: on pump start the valve opens for about 20 seconds generating a high-velocity jet that flushes sediment into the pump intake. The flush cycle is synchronised with pump starts.

APF - Skin Removal System (APF Driver)
The APF Driver runs alongside the main controller to remove scum. It periodically extends pump operation to draw air and then stop, causing scum, floatables and grease to be drawn into the pump during the final phase. Activation frequency is adjustable (commonly ~10 times/day).
