The internal Freewheels FD are used for press fitting on the outer ring with the availability of 3 types off sprags. They comprise of sprag freewheels without an inner ring. The hardened and ground shaft by the customer is used as the inner track. The freewheels FD are used as backstops, as over running clutches and as Indexing Freewheels. The standard type with P-grinding to increase the service life and the indexing accuracy, do not have any bearing support. When it comes to the standard type, every second sprag has been replaced by a cylindrical roller. The freewheel is able accept radial forces. Normal torques are upto 2 300 Nm. The torque is transmitted on the outer ring by press fit.
