PC-controlled testing system for soldering stations, designed for integration into production lines. The system provides automated and semi-automated safety and functional tests compliant with international standards, with a tandem test hood for simultaneous mounting and testing.

Task
Provide a largely automatic safety and function test process in accordance with IEC/EN/UL/VDE etc., optimise the workplace to handle high test volumes, reduce test and handling times while maintaining or increasing test depth, and support worldwide use via multi-language interface and flexible mains supply.

Solution
The PC-controlled system features a tandem test hood that enables simultaneous mounting and testing to optimise throughput. Systems are supplied turnkey with test equipment, tandem hood, PC hardware and software, and DUT adapters. A fully electronic, programmable source supplies the DUT with worldwide voltages and frequencies. Load and thermal resistances are simulated. An arbitrary number of test programs can be stored and managed in the test PC; customers can create or edit programs. Test results are automatically saved in XML or Access format to a network location. A separate dummy enables an automatic system self-check on start-up; further testing is blocked until the dummy test passes.
