Electric steering wheel PH series

Introduction
The vertical steering wheel is designed for outdoor applications, offering excellent water-crossing capability as well as strong climbing and obstacle-overcoming performance. The term vertical steering wheel refers to a structure in which the motor is mounted vertically above the drive wheel. When integrated with a drive controller, a mobile platform equipped with a single steering wheel can perform start/stop, forward and backward movement, and steering functions. When two or more steering wheels are configured, the system enables zero-radius rotation, lateral movement, omnidirectional 360° rotation, straight travel, sideways motion, diagonal motion, and curved trajectories—allowing free movement in any direction on a two-dimensional plane.

Precision Operation
The vertical steering wheel integrates a drive mechanism with speed feedback, a steering mechanism, position feedback, limit devices, and a braking system into a highly integrated mechatronic unit. Through precise drive control, both travel speed and steering direction can be accurately controlled.

Suitable for Confined Spaces
With the drive motor mounted vertically, the overall height of the unit is relatively higher. Thanks to the absence of cable exit restrictions, the vertical steering wheel supports full 360° steering, making it especially suitable for AGV operations in confined or narrow spaces.

Easy Installation
The unique modular design allows plug-and-play installation and removal. Plug-in cable connectors are located below the mounting surface, making component replacement easier and eliminating the need for re-routing cables.

High Reliability
Compatible with inAGV* drag chains using high-flex cables (power, feedback, communication, and commissioning) with a bending life exceeding 10 million cycles. HONPINE steering drive units sold over ten years ago are still operating efficiently in the field today.
