Introduction The HONPINE TYCD differential drive wheel motor uses two fixed-direction drive wheels that do not steer independently. The vehicle changes direction by controlling the speed difference between the left and right drive wheels. With its horizontal layout, when the left wheel rotates faster than the right wheel, the vehicle turns to the right; when the two drive wheels rotate in opposite directions, the vehicle can rotate in place. The TYCD differential drive wheel can be configured according to application requirements, including wheel diameter, maximum load capacity, motor power, and gearbox reduction ratio. Optional configurations include rubber tires and suspension options such as pivoting, spring, and hydraulic suspensions.
Configuration and options - Configurable parameters: wheel diameter, maximum load capacity, motor power, gearbox reduction ratio
- Optional: rubber tires
- Suspension options: pivoting, spring, hydraulic
Key features - Flat and compact structure — motors can be installed fully horizontally inside the chassis, optimizing vertical space for compact AGV/AMR designs.
- Lower mechanical cost vs steering modules — fewer mechanical parts required; no dedicated steering motor or complex slewing bearings.
- Zero turning radius and excellent maneuverability — supports 360° in-place rotation for tight spaces.
- Simple motion control and fast development — differential kinematics reduce controller computation and shorten development time.
- Fast dynamic response for high-frequency operation — suitable for frequent start/stop and high-throughput material handling.
- High reliability and easy maintenance — simpler mechanics with independently replaceable drive components.
- Good traction under suitable conditions — two drive wheels carry most load on flat indoor floors, reducing slip.
Recommended applications Compact and cost-effective traction solution for AGV, AMR, warehouse transport vehicles, e-commerce sorting systems, and light-duty towing applications requiring simple control and high maneuverability.
