Overview
The DPV-1 preaction valve (Type B) automatically controls water admission to preaction piping during fire detection events. Type B (single interlock, electric) systems are intended for areas at risk of freezing—such as unheated warehouses, parking garages and attics—where the pipe network is normally dry and is prefilling only after detection or sprinkler release. This arrangement reduces water delivery delay compared with standard dry pipe systems.
