Horizontal FLOW-VAC® flow wrapper (HFFS) that forms vacuum packs from a single shrink + barrier film reel (CRYOVAC®). Designed for food products with lower-reel film feed to prevent seal contamination.
Description
The FLOW-VAC® system was developed by ULMA Packaging in partnership with SEALED AIR. ULMA supplies the wrapping equipment and SEALED AIR the CRYOVAC® film. The FV 55 is a lower-reel (film fed from beneath the product) HFFS machine. The vacuum bag is formed around the product and a full hermetic longitudinal seal is made; the machine detects each product and indexes automatically for transverse sealing. Both longitudinal and transverse seal systems use modern sealing technology. Excess longitudinal seal material is removed by a film scrap removal system. The machine operates at the speed of the incoming product and adapts to speed variations on the line. Control and format changes are managed via an industrial PC with touch screen and Windows-based graphic software; modem/network connection options are available. Construction is stainless steel to meet hygienic requirements for the food sector.
