JVL supplies a range of step motors that have been designed especially for use with the entire range of JVL Step Motor Drivers and Controllers. The motors can be connected in both series and parallel, so that in low speed applications a serial connection will often allow a smaller driver to be used.
The precision construction of the motors makes them eminently well-suited for mini- and microstepping with extremely smooth operation.
In relation to their size they provide the highest torque available on the market today. Low inertia is achieved by using rare earth magnetic material, and ensures rapid start and stop without overheating. The motors are therefore very well suited to highly dynamic applications. |
|
Lin Engineering's high torque step motors are capable of holding torques up to 920 oz-in based on unipolar ratings. Unipolar and bipolar windings are available to allow for torque and speed to accommodate your application. Lin's high torque motors provide approximately two times more holding torque than standard motors of similar design.
High torque lines are as follows:
4118 Series - Nema 17, 1.8 degree
5718 Series - Nema 23, 1.8 degree
8718 Sereis - Nema 34, 1.8 degree

The High Torque Housed Hybrid.
Portescap's newest hybrid motor family member, the h3 runs quieter and with less resonance across the entire speed range, assisting to counter the disadvantages typical in step motor systems. By raising the output performance of the step motor system while reducing the perceived disadvantages, Portescap has maintained the place of step motor systems in the motion control world.
Larger bearings enable the motor to effectively handle higher side and radial loads
The full maximization of performance is realized with the enhanced version of the h3 stepper, which delivers up to 40% more torque than the standard version
Neodymium Iron Boron Magnets - Deliver Optimized Torque Density
Aluminum Housing - Superior heat dissipation for improved torque output (Patent Pending)
Retainer and O-Ring - prevent bearing spinout and minimize motor noise |

When selecting your motor there are many parameters to consider including voltage and current available from your drive, speed, resolution, space and cost. The following notes may assist you in your selection of a suitable package:
For an application requiring a speed greater than 5rpm we suggest you consider a hybrid stepping motor. A gearbox will give additional output torque if required.
A hybrid stepping motor will offer high resolution which can be further enhanced by use of microstepping drives. |

This 50 to 141 W MAC motor is an AC servo motor and controller combined in a single unit, offering previously unseen low pricing for the OEM market. In the MAC motor, the servo motor, hall sensors, encoder and control circuitry have been especially designed by JVL to provide a self-contained, integrated unit in which the driver and controller are mounted behind the motor in a sealed housing.
Numerous Advantages
There are many benefits achieved from having the intelligence at the device level.
• Reduced material costs Because the drive and controller are in the motor most cabling to a control panel is eliminated
• Reduced labor costs. With cabling eliminated, assembly time is greatly reduced
• Better quality & reliability. Fewer connections, less wiring
• Ease of serviceability. Because all electronics are self contained you simply change out the motor
• Better noise immunity, less noise transmission. I/O is integral eliminating noise induced from external wiring issues. Switching noise from the drive due to commutation is contained in the motor
• Reduced setup time. 4th order digital filter requires only one tuning parameter for load or reflected inertia
• OEM cost savings. Modular approach means you only pay for the functionality required
