6000 Series
Step motors are high-torque drives with a high degree of positioning accuracy. Thanks to their high drive shaft performance beginning at quite low revolution counts, high retaining torque on stopping and the fine step resolution, the step motors are a precise and compact form of direct drive. Because of their brush-less design they also require no maintenance and so the step motor is the ideal drive element for all applications where a long working life is required even in high-stress working environments. For every situation, the user will find an optimal drive to select from the many available:
Permanent-Magnet Step Motors
Actuators For Instrument Clusters
Hybrid Step Motors

| ElectroCraft TorquePower and TorquePower Plus motor have set the standard for quality, reliability, and durability in stepping motors. With non-cumulative position accuracies as low as ±3%, the precision of our TorquePower motor is matched only by the dependability of its performance. Our TorquePower motors are also bi-directional and totally enclosed with permanently lubricated ball bearings for long-lasting, smooth operation. |
|
Ordinary motors cannot operate for long at pressures lower than 10-4 Torr. Empire Magnetics vacuum rated motors are constructed to allow extended operation at pressures as low as 10-7 Torr without a sacrifice in motor performance.
Some vacuum applications cannot tolerate contamination by motor outgassing products. To accommodate a range of motor cleanness requirements, Empire Magnetics provides three grades of vacuum rated stepping motors in the full range of environmental motor sizes.
Frame size selection:
Motors are typically made in groups or families, the families are identified by the outer diameter or size of the square, these references are called frame sizes. In the American system, a 23 frame is a nominal 2.3 inches in diameter. For motors less than one inch in diameter, the reference is typically known as a size. Herein is a list of the frame sizes offered by Empire Magnetics Inc. and some of the characteristics of the group that will allow you to select from them. |

When selecting your motor there are many parameters to consider including voltage and current available from your drive, speed, resolution, space and cost. The following notes may assist you in your selection of a suitable package:
For an application requiring a speed of less than 5rpm and torque of greater than 1Nm we suggest you consider a permanent magnet stepping motor fitted onto a gearbox. Where a speed of less than 5rpm and torque of less than 1Nm is required you can consider either a permanent magnet or hybrid stepping motor without a gearbox. |

| Zaber's T-NM products are computer controlled NEMA size 17 motors with 0.028 degree resolution. They are stand alone units requiring only a standard 15V power supply. Multiple units can be daisy-chained to a single RS-232 serial port or USB port (using an adapter) on any computer. They can also be daisy-chained with any other T-Series products. Convenient 6-pin mini din cables on the unit allow for direct interconnection between units in close proximity. For longer distances, standard cable extension can be used. |

| Our AC synchronous servomotors have a very high power density and enable highly dynamic positioning drives with an excellent price/performance ratio. For maximum flexibility, the servomotors are compatible with the standard servo connection dimensions. The AC synchronous servomotors are equipped with an absolute sensor system: SinCos® Singleturn (SRS, SKS) or SinCos® Multiturn (SRM, SKM). The encoder system with the Hiperface® interface enables auto-initialisation of the motor and current controller parameters. This greatly simplifies the commissioning procedure of the drive system. |
