Toshiba photosensors and photointerrupters are widely used in the market today. The advanced Toshiba packaging technology allows the company to introduce compact devices, which are popular in the consumer electronics product market. Toshiba is among the pioneers in introducing illuminance sensors (a.k.a. ambient light sensors). These light sensors are now used in many mobile devices such as cell phones and other consumer electronic products.

The 622Mbps transceiver series products from HTOE are high performance, cost effective modules for serial optical data communication applications specified for a singlemode of 622 Mb/s. These modules are intended for Single-mode fiber, operate at a nominal wavelength of 1310nm and complies with the industry standard 1×9 footprint. Each module consists of a transmitter optical subassembly, a receiver optical subassembly and an electrical subassembly. It operates with +5V or +3.3V power supply. All are housed in a plastic package and the combination produces a component of high reliability.
