Description

Product overview
The Response ATEX Filler is an automatic benchtop filling machine adapted to meet ATEX requirements. It is built with qualified pneumatic components, conductive airpipe and specific material selections to reduce static build-up and control fumes and mists in potentially explosive atmospheres. The machine is suitable for pilot production, laboratories and small-batch manufacturing where ATEX compliance is required.

ATEX compliance and zones
  • Zone 1 – Category 2 (areas where explosive mixtures are likely to occur occasionally)
  • Zone 2 – Category 3 (areas where explosive mixtures occur infrequently and for short periods)
  • Designed to be adaptable to ATEX directive 2014/34/EC for equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres
  • Not certified for Zone 0 applications

Design features for ATEX safety
The Response ATEX Filler incorporates multiple measures to minimise ignition sources and control vapour release. Key design elements include conductive airpipe, qualified pneumatic components, earth point connection at the rear and machine mounted on feet to enable grounding. Where appropriate, some aluminium and plastic components are replaced with stainless steel. The hopper is supplied with a lid to limit fume emission.

Seal and O-ring options
Seal materials are selected according to product compatibility and explosive atmosphere requirements:
  • FKM (Viton)
  • EPDM
  • FFKM (Kalrez)
  • Teflon-encapsulated FKM

Application scope
The machine is intended for applications where the explosive risk arises from fumes or mists (not dust). Typical uses include filling of volatile liquids, solvents, perfumes and other products that can produce explosive atmospheres when atomised.

Service & Maintenance
Product-contact parts use hygienic, pharmaceutical-grade materials to support cleaning and reduce downtime. Standard service and maintenance features include:
  • All product-contact parts in 316L stainless steel and virgin PTFE
  • FDA-compliant materials where applicable
  • Standard sealing materials FKM (Viton); alternatives EPDM, silicone and FFKM available on request
  • Food-grade PVC suction hoses used where appropriate
  • Quick-strip design for fast, thorough cleaning and reduced changeover time
