AQ IoT Hydrant Flow Sensor – True-Born Underground Integration The AQ IoT Hydrant Flow Sensor is a patented, in-house innovation designed for true-born underground hydrant integration. It offers a simple and cost-effective solution for monitoring flow, pressure, and temperature in locations where traditional meters cannot be installed. The device is engineered for direct mounting through underground hydrants, enabling installation in under 30 minutes with no need to modify existing infrastructure. It’s ideal for retrofitting older networks or gaining insight into unmeasured sections of the system. At its core is the AQ FLOW SENSOR, using high-resolution electronics to track every propeller rotation – direction, speed, and position. This delivers real-time accuracy, including low-flow detection below 0.019 m/s. Each unit is 9-point calibrated on an EN 17020-accredited testing line, ensuring <3% accuracy when installed with appropriate upstream and downstream lengths (15x/5x DN). The sensor’s propeller design allows reliable operation even in water with solid particles. Equipped with integrated pressure and temperature sensors, the unit supports comprehensive network diagnostics. The hybrid system ensures continuous live readings, unlike interval-based ultrasonic or inductive meters. Fully serviceable and recalibratable, the sensor offers a service life of 5+ years, depending on water quality. It supports Bluetooth (via AQ Android App), remote AQ WEB access, and LTE/NB-IoT communication for robust connectivity.
