Overview
The Reel Stand RS-A by BHS Corrugated is a paper roll unwinder designed for corrugators that require fast roll changes, precise web alignment and high running speeds. Its robust construction and precise parallel positioning of rolls reduce speed losses during frequent production changes.

Two-machine combination
Reel Stand and Splicer from BHS Corrugated operate as complementary units to enable fast, continuous splicing and minimize downtime.

Super smooth running

• Crease-free unwinding: A backlash-free wedge guide between support arms and the support shaft enables precise arm adjustment and prevents creasing during unwinding.
• Hydraulic cylinders lift rolls with high precision and repeatability.
• Mechanical expansion cones ensure secure sleeve fastening.
• Ventilated disc brakes provide consistent braking performance and stable web tension across speed ranges.

Roll loading and center alignment

• Fully automated handling: The fully automatic roll loading system uses sensors to ensure safe, reliable and repeatable workflows.
• The new roll’s center is automatically aligned to the running roll, ensuring precise web alignment without manual intervention after splicing.
• Remnant rolls or sleeves are automatically removed after splicing.

Expandability

• Ready for integration: RS-A supports entry into the autonomous BHS iMotion® transport system and can be combined with BHS iShuttle®.
• The Reel Verification System (RVS) verifies correct roll selection for each Reel Stand.
• Easy integration into existing corrugators and capability to handle very narrow rolls, reducing cycle times.
