Description

Overview
This floating containment boom is designed for preventive and curative use to close, contain or divert oil slicks and other pollutants on water surfaces (ports, estuaries, coastal waters, rivers, lakes). Constructed in PVC-coated polyester fabric (900 g/m²) with hydrocarbon-resistant treatment.

Construction and materials
The boom consists of a series of closed-cell foam floatation tubes housed in sealed PVC-coated polyester fabric compartments. A galvanized marine-steel ballast chain runs along the length inside a protective sleeve. Compartmentalisation with an integrated skirt allows the boom to follow surface movements. End plates with bolts enable connection between sections and integrated handling handles facilitate deployment.

Performance and maintenance
Key performance features:
  • Tear and torsion resistant construction
  • Operating temperature range: -30°C to +70°C
  • Abrasion and wear resistant
  • Resistant to hydrocarbons, oils and most industrial chemicals
  • UV resistant
The boom is washable with fresh water and fitted with stainless-steel fastenings.
