Description

Presentation

Floating pollution containment boom made from polyester fabric coated with PVC (700 g/m²). This floating boom is suitable for preventive or corrective use to close off an area, contain or divert oil slicks or other pollutants on water surfaces (ports, estuaries, coastal waters, waterways, etc.).

Details
The boom consists of a series of closed-cell foam floats inserted into sealed polyester/PVC sleeves (hydrocarbon-resistant, 700 g/m²). It is reinforced by a galvanized marine steel ballast chain in a protective sleeve along its entire length. The compartmentalized float sections and attached skirt allow the boom to follow surface movements. Its high flexibility ensures good behaviour in strong winds and currents. Booms can be quickly joined using a zipper connection with an overlapping skirt and a continuous reinforcement strap. Two snap hooks at each end absorb traction loads.

Resistance and maintenance
  • Tear and torsion resistant
  • Operating temperatures from -30°C to +70°C
  • Wear and abrasion resistant
  • Resistant to hydrocarbons, oils and most industrial chemicals
  • UV resistant
This containment boom can be washed with water.

Applications
  • Estuary
  • Coastal waters
  • Refinery
  • Port area
  • Discharge canal
  • Barge, tanker or inland vessel
  • Wastewater treatment plant
  • River and lake
