Description

Description
This floating containment boom is a PVC-coated polyester fabric (900 g/m²) barrier with closed-cell foam floats, designed for preventive and emergency control of oil spills and other waterborne pollutants. Suitable for use in ports, estuaries, coastal waters, rivers and lakes, it confines, diverts or closes off contaminated zones.

Construction and materials
The boom is made of sequential soft foam cylinders with closed cells inserted into sealed polyester fabric envelopes coated with hydrocarbon-resistant PVC (900 g/m²). A galvanized nautical steel ballast chain runs full length inside a protective sleeve. The segmented design with skirt allows the boom to follow surface movements. Each module has stainless steel connection plates and bolts at both ends and two handling grips for deployment. The boom is washable with water.
