DescriptionFloating pollution containment boom made of polyester fabric coated with PVC (900 g/m2). This floating boom can be used preventively or curatively to close an area, confine or divert a slick of hydrocarbons or other pollutants on water bodies (port areas, estuaries, open coastal waters...). The BARC 2555R boom also enables recovery of macro debris (plastic bottles and bags, floating debris, branches, ...), or surface films.
Construction and materialsThe boom is composed of successive flexible closed-cell foam sausages inserted into waterproof sleeves of polyester fabric coated with hydrocarbon-treated PVC (900 g/m2). It is reinforced with a galvanized nautical steel ballast chain in a protective sleeve along its entire length. Element compartmentalization allows the boom with skirt to follow surface movements. Its high flexibility ensures excellent behavior against strong winds and currents. Each floating boom is equipped at both ends with connection plates and bolts and with two handles to facilitate deployment. The boom is washable with water and fitted with stainless steel bolting.
